Phase 3: Decontamination and Selective Demolition

Phase 3 includes the decontamination, abatement, and/or remediation of contaminants identified in Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports. Additional identification of locations of contamination may also take place during Phase 3.

Purpose of Phase 3:
  • Ensure the health and safety of future occupants, patients, and visitors at retained and renovated facilities
  • Protect contract workers from unnecessary exposure to hazardous materials and any unsafe workplace conditions
  • Prevent the release of hazardous materials to the environment
  • Conduct due diligence involving property transfer from leased facilities by providing warranty information to be recorded with deed or lease and attest to the cleanliness of such facilities prior to transfer

Specific tasks that will be completed by 3D Enviro under Phase 3 include:
  • Perform the decontamination/remediation/abatement activities according to our plan, in an efficient and safe manner
  • Complete confirmatory sampling and analysis to verify contamination
  • Manage wastes from remedial actions
  • Ensure waste minimization by proper segregation
  • Comply with satellite accumulation and other regulatory requirements for interim storage of hazardous substances and wastes
  • Package and transport  waste​ ​

​Phase 4: Post-Decontamination Clearance Testing

3D Enviro conducts final clearance testing in Phase 4 to ensure all spaces meet a rigorous post-decontamination standard prior to the project being deemed complete. Results of the final status testing are concisely documented in Phase 3 summary reports.

The Phase 3 Decontamination and Phase 4 Clearance Testing are consolidated into a single report. This report details the actions taken during hazard remediation and the achieved clearance levels after the completion of the cleanup process. The clearance levels are compared with the initial contaminant concentrations prior to cleanup. The report details all Phase 3 remediation and abatement activities and confirms that all necessary actions were taken to safeguard human health and the environment.

Our final reports include relevant photographs that depicts work activities as well as annotated floor plans highlighting areas where hazards exceeding acceptable levels were detected and subsequently decontaminated.
